I'm From the South (#1 Free write)

I'm from the South
Where we run barefoot on a hot summer day
Where we make homemade ice cream and sweet watermelon wine
Where trucks are made for playing in the Georgia clay
Where nights are spent around campfires
Roasting marshmallows and playing a tune

I'm from the South
Where honeysuckle sweetens the summer air
Where holidays are spent with family
Where a single snowflake causes wide spread panic
Where God is at the foundation of the family

Cool start. Writing about Southern culture could keep you busy for years. This piece is a little busy though. Let's slow it down a little (about the South after all) and pick a single image. What's the most interesting one to you? I like the watermelon part. Expand that section.
